In S-ARGAME you can use our Mobile Controller in every game, but if you prefer a more natural control you need to have physical compatible gamepads connected to the PC/Mac.
On Windows:
- XBox controllers are the best for Windows, you can use wireless ones and connect up to 8 wirelessly with the Microsoft Adapter (Amazon link) (please double check these dongles are Microsoft genuine)
- We use EasySMX wireless PC compatible gamepads all the time, choose the ones that are reported as PC compatible.
On Macintosh:
- Macintosh users should refer to these guides for controller support:
- There is a known issue for XBox compatible controllers, that are recognized as keyboards on some MacOS versions, therefore cannot be used as gamepads.
Here is a forum thread about that, and a possible workarounds is the following:
XBox on Macintosh not regognized - possible workaround
This is probably due to macOS’s Input Monitoring privacy feature being incompatible with gamepads that also report themselves as a keyboard (such as the Xbox Elite Controller).
This is not a Unity issue, but an issue stemming from how macOS decides if a device should be covered by Input Monitoring.
If this applies to your controller, you can workaround this by:- Navigateto the Input Monitoring tab in System Preferences
- Allow S-ARGAME Packages (Starterpack or other installed ones) to monitor keyboard input.
- Accepting the prompt and relaunch the S-ARGAME Editor and applications
